Get Bingo Lucky on St. Patrick’s Day

It doesn’t matter what your ethnicity is on St. Patty’s Day because everyone is, that is the leprechaun magic! With a bit of luck maybe bingo buds can grab that pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow.

It is a religious celebration with roots in Ireland dating back to AD 385–461 representing a Feast of Saint Patrick. Ironically, he wasn’t Irish at all, a fact that many were unaware of.

March 17th marks the death of the patron Saint Patrick’s death who was a Christian missionary responsible converting the people of Ireland to Christianity.

The wearing of the green was a tradition started that it would make you invisible to leprechauns. These magical creatures would pinch anyone not wearing green. So, if you’re not dressed in this color, beware you could be in for one great big pinch!

It is considered a national and bank holiday in Ireland and is observed internationally around the world. The festivities include parades, feasts, dancing, drinking and of course wearing green.

Want to know another crazy fact? The official color was not green at all, it was blue! In 1783 green was already taken after the Order of St. Patrick therefore, to stand out blue was the chosen color.

Green symbolizes the Ireland and is also thought to represent good luck. Be sure to wear plenty of green this March 17th before heading to your favorite bingo hall or entering an online site to get lucky!
