Facebook plans to launch a bingo application were introduced to a select group of players to run as a test preview by Zynga. Online bingo has showed great promise on the social network with a massive global following.

Dream Heights is the newest application from Zynga available to iPhone users and is now under scrutiny for copying the Bingo Blitz game on Facebook. Buffalo Studios made an online letter to Zynga regarding the similarities.

"We wanted to let the technology and gaming community know that Zynga continues in their practice of blatantly copying other successful games," Salim Mith, vice president of product marketing and operations at Santa Monica, Calif.-based Buffalo Studios, told PCMag.com in an email. "From the self-proclaimed industry leader we should expect more than a series of blatant rip-offs."

Another game developer NimbleBit accused Zynga of copying Tiny Tower an iPhone game. NimbleBit wrote them a letter stating: "Dear Zynga (all 2,789 of you)," the NimbleBit's letter read. "We noticed you are about to launch a new iPhone game called Dream Heights! Congratulations! We wanted to thank you guys for being such big fans of our iPhone game of the year Tiny Tower. Good luck with your game, we are looking forward to inspiring you with our future games! Sincerely, (all three of us) NimbleBit."

It is uncertain where the allegations will lead about Zynga getting their hand caught in the cookie jar.
