Nearly 200 William Hill employees walk out in protest at the online support center in Tel Aviv. Israel’s Chief Marketing Officer, Eyal Sanoff calls it quits and also leaves.

It is a critical situation with Tel Aviv operators and marketing departments gone since most of the support derives from this location and handles all of the bookmakers’ online functions.

The reason for the walkout is staff fear their jobs are on jeopardy and William Hill’s Chief Executive, Ralph Topping is moving the support center back to the UK or Gibraltar.

One worker in an exclusive interview with Sun City said “Everyone's worried. The last two years have been really good.

"We all bought into the company's thinking, such as hating LADBROKES, but the situation has deteriorated and people are really worried about their jobs.

"All 180 staff walked out on Sunday, which is a working day here, and only 20 came back today."

Jim Mullen, William Hill executive arrived in Tel Aviv to offer staff an incentive of a month’s pay to return back to work.

The online empire is expected to generate profits in excess of £100 million by years end.

William Hill refused to comment on the current crucial situation.
