Online bingo operators and local bingo halls spend an exorbitant amount of money on television campaign ads. Many of the adverts are cleverly done while others leave something to be desired.
In some respects most of the UK audience might agree that these ads are overkill with excessive airtime as viewers grab the remote control to change the channel after seeing it for the tenth time in a day. It’s when you find yourself singing a jingle you can’t get out of your head that you know enough is enough.
In defense for the bingo operator it’s the only way to get the message out there to a large audience. The only suggestion would be to temper the amount of times it is aired a day.
In a recent report from YouGov research, three quarters of the viewing audience prefer not to see any ads that relate to gambling. That is a staggering statistic considering there are gamblers among this survey.
What are the most acceptable adverts on UK television? Children’s toys ranked at 79% and universities ranked the highest with 84% finding the ads acceptable according to YouGov.
