Bingo has a colorful history that dates back to the 1500’s along side Lenardo da Vinci when he painted the Mona Lisa. Contrary to belief bingo was not born in the United States but in Italy.

There has always been an attraction to games of chance and the “lottery” as it was called during that time period was the perfect game. It didn’t reach the US until the 1900’s and that is where the name “bingo” was born quite by accident. In 1929 Edwin Lowe a salesman from New York took a keen interest in the game and began to introduce the game. Using beans to fill the bingo card, players would declare “beano” when they won. During one particular game a player mistakenly yelled “bingo” in all the excitement and it was a name that would stick throughout the world.

Through the magic of modern technology software developers have created an environment that is social network for players across the globe and offers the same original elements of bingo that has been loved throughout history. Adding slots, casino and chat games along with promotional offers create a new mix to an old time favorite.

Maybe just maybe the mystery behind the smile of the Mona Lisa is the discovery of a wonderful game of chance called bingo.
