We love a good news story and one of the best this week related to mega brand Mecca Bingo and their continued support of Marie Curie Cancer Care. Mecca has championed the charity for years and their recent efforts were all thanks to the team from the Rutherglen hall, near Glasgow.

Over the past year the dedicated employees have taken part in various fundraisers including a grueling bicycle ride to Rothesay. The halls manager, Wendy Buchan explained the catalyst behind their efforts,“We wanted to really go for it with our fundraising activity this year and raise as much as we could to support Marie Curie nurses.”

We find it astounding how the overall brand has encouraged each bingo hall to do their best for the cause. Wendy clearly felt the same about her team,“Our club’s fundraising success is a credit to the team members and the hard work they put in to ensure our events ran smoothly. I was especially impressed with the team’s efforts in the bicycle ride.”

The team haven’t given up after smashing their target and plan to raise even more money over the following months. Past efforts across the country have included sponsored swims and even an inter-hall football tournament and family fun day.

One thing which is for certain is that Marie Curie is an amazing charity to support who continue to care for terminally ill patients across the country. Kudos to them we say!

Good on them for putting their bit in for the community. Positive piece of publicity.
