After a long and drawn out highly charged session the city council in Digos City, Philippines has approved online bingo to a Cagayan de Oro City company.

In a vote 7-5 on Thursday in favor of online gambling was in part approved in an effort to prevent the illegal Last Two gambling game that continues to be a big business.

The Last Two game involves large sums of money from gamblers who correctly pick the last two digits in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes that is drawn in Manila daily.

One council member, Johari Bana, against online bingo claims that it would turn the city into a gambling capital.

Councilor Juanita Morales was quick to retort by saying if online bingo is not allowed then Last Two should be stopped.

Morales makes a point by saying that the illegal operation was set up with stations as authorities turned a blind eye.

Vladimir Custer Kahulugan was removed as Senior Superintendent after starting an anti-gambling campaign against Last Two while politicians were abetting the illegal operation.

Councilor Mila Llanos also in favor of online bingo said: “My vote is yes because bingo is better than Last Two.”
