Gun shots rang out yesterday outside of Gala Bingo hall in Harpurhey on January 12 at approximately 7:15pm.
Police investigating the incident believe the attack was deliberately targeted against the victims.

The woman was playing at Gala Bingo and was collected by her son after the bingo session had ended.
Two men drove up in the car park blocking the mother and son before getting out of the car and shooting them a close range.

The 56 year old woman was shot in the elbow while her 22 year old son was shot in wrist.
According to police the son abandoned his vehicle, an Audi at Woodville Terrace and proceeded on foot to North Manchester General Hospital where they were treated for injuries.

Detective Superintendent Alex Millet said: ‘This appears to be a targeted incident which could have had even more dire consequences.

‘Thankfully it doesn’t look like either are too seriously injured, but we’ll know more tomorrow.

‘We believe the black car was driven by two white men and it’s from that car that the shots were fired.'

I want to reassure people that we have had armed response officers to the scene and are now investigating.’
