Mecca Bingo Director Appointed New Chairman Role

The Managing Director of Mecca Bingo Mark Jones in an announcement yesterday will be taking on the new role of Vice Chairman for the Chairman of the Bingo Association.

Mr. Jones has been part of the Rank Group as the MD for Mecca Bingo since 2009 and will continue his position there while undertaking his new duties as Chairman.

Mecca has a long standing membership with the Association that is well known for their brands offline and online and works with other operators to flourish in the gaming business.

New Chairman Mr. Jones said he was “delighted at his new role” with a goal “to continue the Associations campaign to secure a fairer tax deal for bingo and work further towards changing people’s perception of the industry.”

former Chairman Brain Mattingley since 2009 stepped down due to commitments with online gaming operator 888 Holdings PLC as Chief Executive Officer.

The Chief Executive of the Bingo Association, Paul Talboys, commented: “Brian’s contribution to the Association is greatly appreciated and I have really enjoyed working with him. The industry faces numerous challenges, specifically in relation to the securing a fair tax regime. Mark’s experience in the leisure industry will be an immense asset toward navigating the road ahead."
