A man from Dumfries has become the staring face of a brand new television series which started last weekend. Kenneth Crosbie, an avid online bingo player was chosen to take part in the Sunday evening programme about the increasing popularity of online bingo.
The show was aired on a new TV station called Channel One (formally known as Virgin 1) at 7:30pm and forms part of a mini lifestyle series. The show focuses on Crown bingo which is one of the larger bingo operators in the UK.
Mr. Crosbie is an avid bingo player who particularly enjoys the online version of bingo. He was selected from thousands of Crown bingo applicants to be filmed for sections of the show in Newcastle.
The TV show investigated and analyzed how brands like Crown Bingo have changed the traditional bingo game into a thriving online community; it showed how more and more people are choosing to log on instead of making their way to the local land based bingo hall.
Mr. Crosbie said: “I’ve been playing online bingo on and off now for about two years.
“The highlights have been a couple of big house wins of £350 and £250 but winning a line or two still gives me a thrill.
“My partner Karen plays bingo and that’s what got me started. A lot of men have taken up bingo, but find it a bit embarrassing, which is why we play online.
Mr. Crosbie’s view of bingo is one shared by many with thousands of men choosing to stay at home to enjoy bingo in private. The show continues this Sunday at 7:30pm.
