An initiative to legalize bingo is underway but only at the Guam Greyhound Park. The Guam Election Commission's legal counsel has completed the review for the legalization of bingo. Last Friday the Guam-Japan Friendship Village filed the initiative and a vote in the November general election.
Attorney Jeff Moots tells KUAM News he completed the review of the initiative ensuring there are no unrelated matters involved in it. Moots completed a summary of the initiative for the GEC board's approval.
The Commission will then make petitions with the summary, giving the Guam-Japan Friendship Village 120 days to obtain the required number of signatures to get the initiative on the November ballot.
The GEC board meets next week Wednesday May 23rd to review the summary and determine the number of signatures the proponents will need.
