The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) received a complaint about a direct mailing sent from 888.com that advertised:
NO DEPOSIT BONUS & Amazing offers ..." Text inside stated "NO Deposit Bonus - 888.com has opened you a Casino-on-Net account with free £10 in it! No registration - No deposit - No strings attached ... Go to your [provider] email account - Open your Casino-on-Net password email - Download & start playing - Enjoy your free £10.
According the complaint after taking the free No Deposit Bonus they were unable to cash the £10.70 win because the rules state a withdrawal can’t be less than £30.
In defense 888.com stated that the Casino On Net indicates in the terms of policy that a £30 withdrawal is required. But the ASA wasn’t budging saying the “No deposit, No strings attached” was misleading to players whose winnings from the initial £10 free and believe that they could withdraw without making a deposit or betting any further.
Gala Bingo was up against a similar issue with a complaint about a promotion that was sent to registered players in an email. The complaint was in regards to the Terms and Conditions of the offer and up held by the ASA.
