One of the very best aspects of the online and land based bingo industries is the work that the big brands do for charity. The most recent story comes from five members of staff who work at a Gala bingo hall in Manchester who bared all to raise money for a local baby, Ruby Tanswell, who is receiving treatment for throat cancer.

Ruby was diagnosed with rare throat cancer in 2010 undergoing three operations and chemotherapy. Her story has touched the hearts of anyone who hears it with many wishing her well including the team from Gala Bingo who took it upon themselves to raise money to help.

The ‘Full Monty’ event was a resounding success raising £1,337 so far for the appeal, the club received double the usual number of players on the day with players packing in to see the employees get their kit off for the worthy cause.

Mike Bracken, Gala Bingo Belle Vue manager said: “I am so proud of what my team has achieved. We were all very moved having read about Ruby’s story and felt we needed to help out - even if that did mean recreating the Full Monty! I think the ladies at Gala Bingo Belle Vue were certainly delighted by our charity efforts!”

Caron Wright, grandmother of Ruby said: “I cannot thank Gala Bingo Belle Vue enough. We are so incredibly grateful for the generosity and support shown for Ruby, and think the Gala Bingo boys were exceedingly brave!”

The efforts to raise money for Ruby have not finished and should you wish to contribute to the fund you can visit Gala Belle Vue Manchester or phone on 0161 2237770.
