Don't you worry. I won't tell anyone how you spend your lunchtime, as long as you don't tell your boss that I gave you the idea. Deal?
We've decided that every Friday we're going to do a round-up of the best free games around the web and in the App Store, to help you pass the time on a grey Friday afternoon.
Robot Unicorn Attack is quite simply, genius. If there was a t-shirt, I would wear it. It's a retro style simple platform game, which has the fire and jump functionality of an early Spectrum game. Basically, you are a robot unicorn, (naturally) jumping over boulders and stars, running free. It has an absolute cult following including all sorts of fan-sites, Facebook groups and the like. This game is addictive, retro-gaming kitsch; made even more kitsch by the stroke of genius pairing with Erasure's "Always" as the background music.
Apparently - the iPhone app version launches soon and mark my words it will go straight to number 1!.
If you want a fun multi-player battle game, that feels a little familiar, then Wild Ones is the game for you. It's kinda similar to Worms in concept, though looks better than Worms Armageddon on the PS2; plus the characters on your team are much cuter (in an armed and dangerous sort of way.) Loads of fun, and less annoying than the build your farm/nightclub/pet/hospital/city/sociallife type of games that are common on Facebook. Wild Ones kicks-ass. Literally!
Bin Toss. Yes, you heard me,.. Bin Toss. Just like when you are bored in real life, you can now throw virtual screwed up balls of paper into a virtual bin. I know this might sound crazy, but it's strangely addictive, and it's free. Plus, if you do happen to work in an office, you probably don't want to draw attention to your bin tossing habits in front of your boss, but with this little iPhone app, you can discretely toss away to your hearts content. To get Bin Toss, just go to the App Store on your iPhone and search for it, or scroll down top free games, and it's in the top 20.
So,.. there you go. A few cool free games for your lunchbreak.
