Foxy Bingo Usurped by Bingo.com at Top of Search Engines

A recent report has shown some major changes in the bingo search results with Foxy Bingo losing its top spot to Bingo.com. The study was carried out by Greenlight Search in collaboration with EGR magazine and looked at the changing search results from June 2011.

The study ranked top bingo sites in terms of visibility in the UK search engines, especially Google which is the most popular method for searching the internet. When compared to April 2011 it showed that Foxy Bingo had dropped from 75% search visibility to 64% for overall search terms. In contrast Bingo.com has increased its visibility from 61% to 68% in the same timeframe.

The gains and losses could be attributed to the work of both brands search engine optimization team and how their work has worked positively or negatively. However, it is more likely that recent changes to Google’s search algorithm is to blame as various incarnations of Panda rolled out (and continue to roll out) at the time of the study.

During the study 515,000 bingo related terms were searched for. Of these 515,000 the term ‘bingo’ represented a staggering 48%, with the term free bingo continuing to pull in decent exposure with 10% of all searches.

Other sites which made the top ten included Littlewoods bingo, Gala Bingo, Wink Bingo, Dream Bingo, Mecca Bingo, Bingo Port, Tombola Bingo and 888Ladies Bingo. Interestingly Cheeky Bingo was relegated to twentieth place, a position which they will have surely have clawed back if today’s search results are considered.
