Quite a few things go together like peanut butter and jelly or cheese and crackers but marijuana and bingo? This is what police found when they entered a building in Birmingham.
Police have uncovered not only a plant but a complete cannabis farm in an old Birmingham bingo hall. A warrant to search the property was obtained when community support officers noticed suspicious activity going on and an interesting smell coming from the bingo hall.
Police busted into the former bingo hall in and found 40 cannabis plants growing in the attic. In addition to the plants, there were also 10 to 15 kilos of dried leaves.
There were 2 men arrested for the crime; however they were released on bail as the investigation continued.
Det Con John Hamilton from the drug investigation team stated, “This cannabis farm was being cultivated right in the heart of the community in a disused building that people pass every day.
“We are relying on members of the public to tell us about suspicious behaviour so that we can continue to close these set ups down.”
Anyone with any information on this case is encouraged to contact the police investigating this incident.
