October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, an event that started in 1985 on a small scale that has transformed into an international awareness raising event. This year’s campaign is the biggest yet with events to educate and support breast cancer taking place all across the UK.

Why we are backing Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Bingo-Reviewer team believes strongly in the cause which effects 1 in 10 women in the UK. Everyone in our office knows someone who has been effected by breast cancer and has seen the direct and indirect damage it causes. As Bingo is a very popular leisure activity for women and the majority of our readers and social media friends are women, we feel it is practically our duty as a publisher, to join in to help spread awareness of this serious illness.

Around 46,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, coping with the devastating news is a difficult time for the patient and their family respectively. The support that breast cancer charities offer is a vital lifeline for many families across the UK all of which demands a great deal of money and resources which is why fund raising is an important part of breast cancer awareness month.

Another important part of the campaign is to raise awareness. There is already a great deal of information on the internet and we hope to report on some of the best sites. A one stop shop for information and support is http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/.

We are backing the campaign by providing a range of interesting and informative features throughout October.

Our guides and features

We discussed the bingo sites that are supporting the cause at the start of the week with Foxy bingo giving 10% of all ticket purchases to charity on select games on Monday. We will continue to update you on what others are doing throughout the month but more importantly will bring you some interesting interviews and features ourselves.

We are interviewing a variety of experts, representatives and practitioners on their experiences and thoughts on breast cancer. Our guides will start tomorrow with a novel and fun way you can support the campaign.

It is important to us that the information we share is relevant and informative so feel free to send us any links on useful posts or resources so we can share them with other bingo-reviewer readers.
