Bingo Players Terrorized at Bingo Hall

In Durham three robbers stormed in at Top Ten Bingo hall on Sunday night, terrifying staff and bingo players.

Two were armed with machetes targeted two woman bingo players, a woman cleaner, a man and the assistant manager and forced them to the ground. The assistant manager was ordered to open the safe with a undisclosed large amount of money according to police.

The bingo manager, Malcolm Evans, commented that his staff was very upset after the intrusion and tries to calm them down. Though the robbers were in the all less than ten minutes it was a terrifying experience.

Detective Inspector Nev Carmen, of Durham Police, said: “Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident but it was a frightening experience for those involved. At this stage we don’t know exactly how much money was stolen but believe it was a substantial quantity.”

The men were described as wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. At this time there is no leads into the investigation.
