Luck struck twice at a Skegness bingo club resulting in a combined pot of £45,000. Frederick Vine scooped £25,000 and Julie Boltwood, £20,000 when their numbers came up at Roman Bank Bingo. Both were playing against thousands of players across the country trying to win the National Bingo Game.

This joyful event also represents a first National Bingo Game win at Roman Bank Bingo in over 10 years. Frederick, from Skegness, got a full house a few days before Julie, bagging the nice sum in the smallest number of calls. Astonishingly this was his first game at the club as a member, and he went there only to join his girlfriend Leanne who is a true bingo fan.

The lucky man said: “I knew I had won the house prize then about 20 minutes later it was announced that I had won £25,000. I was in shock and started shaking, when I found out.”

For Julie it was a dream come true. Julie, from Nottingham, won £20,000 after shouting house. She soon started crying after it hit her:

“I just started crying, I have never won anything like this before. It was only my second game here, but I play regularly at home.”

She even put some money in the wishing well prior to her big win and is now planning to buy a caravan in the town with partner Raymond Parsons, and stay in Skegness.

Club deputy manager Cheryl Woodcock said: “Luck is definitely on our side here! I can’t believe that in the space of six days, we’ve had two winners. It’s definitely beginner’s luck that these two players have won the National Game twice in the space if a week and in the same club.”
