Bingo Excluded from William Hill’s Withdrawal from Australian Market

William Hill removed their betting services from the Australian market to comply with terms of their Nevada gaming license application.

The Australian Interactive Gambling Act 2001 that casino games and poker is illegal in Australia which does not seem to include bingo. It has become apparent that sports betting operations may also be a major concern for Will Hill.

William Hill recently drafted and email and sent it to their registered players:

"Following previous communications, please be advised that we have taken the decision to withdraw our Sports betting service for any customer registered in Australia. Any real cash funds held in your account will now appear in your main William Hill account and you can arrange withdrawal of these funds through the 'My Account' section of our site."

A William Hill spokesperson later made the following statement in an interview:

"We are writing to notify you that following certain changes in regulations, William Hill is modifying its policies regarding players who reside in Australia.

“William Hill and our affiliated brands will no longer accept registrations, betting on sports or online gaming from any customer registered in Australia. At present, Customers are able to log into their account and withdraw funds."
