The Big Brother Television Show has become a major hit in the Europe, especially in the UK. In fact, it has become a hit all over the world as well. If you’ve been a fan of the Big Brother show and have been following it religiously, you would probably know who Mikey Hughes is. Mikey is one of the Big Brother finalists in 2008. And now he has recently hosted a charity bingo event.

Mikey Huges is a 33 year old from Kilwinning, Ayrshire. Mikey as one of the finalists, came pretty close to winning the Big Brother Season 9 last 20008. In fact, he only lost by 1.3% of the votes, making Rachel the Big Brother Season Nine winner. If you don’t know much about Mikey, he grew partly sighted as he was born with Stickler’s syndrome. When he reached 23 years of age, he had an operation. However, he hemorrhaged, causing him to become totally blind. He was halfway through his Mphil Degree Course back then. Good thing he was still able to finish his degree. After that he became a reporter and producer at Insight Radio. The radio station is specifically for the blind and partially sighted listeners.

When the Big Brother 9 TV show came in, Mikey then gained a lot of followers or fans because of his character and great insights. He spoke his mind and talked about the characteristics of the other housemates despite his disability. Now that the Big Brother television show is about to start, he was invited to host a charity bingo in James Watt, his local college in Killwinning. It only aimed to raise two hundred pounds for the North Ayrshire Cancer Care Foundation. Of course, Mikey was eager to help. He spent a fun afternoon of bingo at the college. He carried out the job of a professional bingo caller and had great sense of humour while doing so. It was definitely a successful event for the James Watt College, thanks to the organizers and of course, Mikey.
