A lucky New York woman banked a $1 million prize playing bingo at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut over the July 4th weekend.
Celebrating its 30 year anniversary, the casino was hosting a special tournament in its bingo hall and 60-year-old Patricia Elliott, of Elmont, N.Y., paid a $650 buy-in to enter the annual Firecracker Bingo tournament.
Elliot commented, “I’m still numb, stunned and shocked. I’m just a regular middle-class person from New York.”
“The house has to be paid off, and I have children and grandchildren, so they’re going to have to share some of it,” Elliott said. “I’m also going to donate $500 to a charity down in Orlando after what happened.”
Elliot had previously won $50k at Foxwoods so is there a method to having such amazing luck? Elliot gave norwichbulletin.com the low down on her pattern.
“Every time I go to Foxwoods I change up my routine,” she said. “Sometimes I play the computers, sometimes you have better luck with the workers. It all depends on how you’re feeling that day.”
She’s not always a winner having said, “To be honest, when I won that $50,000, I was broke again in two or three months. That was an example of what not to do. I came back to work today because I’m not going to end back in that same position.”
