Award Winning Restaurant Uses Bingo to Wow Diners

As business people become increasingly more aware of the powers of a good game of bingo, news reaches us of a bingo / restaurant tie in which has helped out a worthy cause.

The restaurant in question is the Ashvale Fish Restaurant in the granite city of Aberdeen, and the funds have been going to charities such as the popular Royal National Lifeboat Institution. In fact their bingo fundraising was so popular that the Ashvale won the coveted award known as the Contribution to the Local Community category during the recent but sadly under-reported 23rd National Fish & Chip Awards in London.

This seafood based eatery has been going for over 25 years and is well known in the community for its regular fundraising bingo, racing and quiz nights. In the last year the Ashvale has raised a very tasty £50,000 for a variety of good causes, and has presumably given a lot of locals a jolly good night out at the same time.

Bingo aside, if you are ever down Bridlington way then the innvotatively named "Fish and Chips at 149" in the town won the coveted best fish and chip shop prize at the annual awards.

The good work by the Aberdeen restuarant shows that the powers of bingo are spreading and that having a game can also help support a good cause. We mentioned earlier how Costa Bingo is donating proceeds to the Help for Heroes charity, and the popularity of this great, fun game means that we can expect to see it used more and more frequently to support charities and make people aware of fundraising attempts.

Can bingo help the world become a better place?
