Exploring the Bingo Superbook
22 January 2012
The concept of the Bingo Superbook was brought to life on the Virtue Fusion bingo platform. Some of the sites featuring this software are bet365 Bingo, Ladbrokes Bingo, Mecca Bingo, Virgin Bingo and William Hill Bingo. They have transformed the notion of free bingo and left quite an impression on players. Some may frown upon free bingo but it certainly has bingo players swarming to the free rooms but where do these Superbooks fit in?
Let’s set up a scenario. You’ve logged in ready to relax and enjoy an afternoon of bingo. You are scrolling through a list of rooms, prizes and ticket prices. Your eye is drawn to a prize of £500 in a 90 ball bingo room. What’s more is the cost of the tickets is only 15p. What a deal! You enter the room, buy your tickets and wait for the game to begin. The line prize is £100, £ 150 for two lines and £250 for the Full House. As you wait, you notice that there are 747 fellow roomies. Your first thought is that these are the total players online at this particular site. That sinking feeling sets in when you realize that you’re all playing the same game.
You have entered a free bingo room and purchased a Superbook. Basically, the purchase of tickets in a free room is a Superbook. The prizes for free players are significantly less at £1 for a line, £2 for two lines and £3 for the house. The prizes are much sweeter but your odds are reduced with the high volume of traffic going through that room.
I have tested the odds myself. Nothing technical, just a gal playing bingo over the course of a week. I upgraded to a Superbook several times and the fact that I didn’t win wasn’t the issue. The issue was that with three prizes per game of 90 ball bingo, not one prize was taken by the purchaser of a Superbook. I then played, hours of free bingo. The first thing that caught my eye was the number of free tickets allowed. At one site in particular, I received 36 free tickets. After hours of play, I was no closer to a win than I was with the Superbook. Yet again, all the prizes were taken by free players.
It’s no wonder the players were multiplying like rabbits with the carrots that were dangled in front of us. Is the Superbook worth it? In a word, no. Big prizes entice us at cheap ticket prices but it seems that the price per ticket simply offsets the prizes offered in free bingo.
