Some of the hidden secrets to a game of bingo

When the thousands of people head to play bingo in the bingo hall of Western Pennsylvania, some take along good luck charms like stuffed animals to pictures of loved ones. There are also some people who look for strategies to win at a game of bingo. You can find some of these tactics in the book How to Win At Bingo.

One secret of the game is to pick cards with good symmetry if you can choose your own cards when playing bingo. this means that if you get a card where the numbers in the B column are low like 3,4,7,1 and 2, it is better to pick a different card where the numbers in the column are spread out like 4,6,7,12 and 14, and with better symmetry.

This is why the author of the book, Granville suggests looking at the bingo board to find that even here thee numbers are balanced on both sides. However Duquesne University Professor Anthony Davies thinks otherwise. According to him, numbers selected randomly may turn out to be well balanced; however this fact is not beneficial to you in the game. He compares bingo to the flipping of a coin where you may get 4 heads in a row, and still not know what comes next.

It is suggested to look for bingo cards having numbers with different endings. Granville says that cards having numbers that end with 1 like 1, 11, 21, 31, 51 and 71 should be avoided. The reason is because the first six numbers called in a game of bingo usually ends in different digits. Once again, Professor Davies disagrees with this reasoning saying that there is no proof or logic to this, and that it is just a random phenomenon.
