When Amelia Turner arrived at the British Legion club in Cardiff last week you could have been mistaken for thinking that royalty had arrived!

However, Amelia Turner is the oldest bingo player in her local Crown Bingo hall having just reached the milestone age of 100 years. The turnout for the oldest bingo player in town was enormous with nearly 200 friends and family crammed into the British Legion club in Cardiff. So what does Miss Turner make of the bingo industry of today and the changes over the last few decades?

She will have seen companies come and go, the arrival of the internet and the massive increase in bingo players of late after a period when the industry fell out of favour with the UK public. Over the years Amelia must have played thousands upon thousands of games hopefully won thousands upon thousands of pounds and made many friends along the way.

Obviously bingo must keep you mentally alert, on the ball and the regular trot down to Amelia's local bingo hall has obviously done her no harm. The bingo arena of today is very different to the one of yesteryear and Amelia is being joined by an array of younger and younger bingo players. However, you can't beat experience.
