A 62 year old Gala bingo winner took home more than £60,000 in prize money, having won the national bingo game. He plans to spend his winnings, or part of them, going to visit his son in Australia. As always, his winnings were actually made up of three different prizes with the vast majority being the national game bingo jackpot of exactly £60,000.

The man, playing in a Gala Bingo club in Oasby Croft, Bradford, not only won the £60,000 on the national game but he also took the regional jackpot of £1,943 and the club jackpot of £80 giving a total prize fund of £62,023.

The man has been playing in the same Gala club since it opened and the club manager was said to be extremely pleased because the bingo hall was buzzing having already had several smaller winners earlier in the evening.

It's only slightly more than a month before Gala bingo actually withdraws from the national game to concentrate on their own national jackpot prize so the 62 year old man from Bradford will be one the last few to ever win this jackpot – although there will undoubtedly be winners taking home large pots with the new prize.
