Australian casino donates to a political party

Donations are considered to be the voluntary contributions made by a party or group to another party or group. And this is exactly what a New South Wales casino has done recently. It has donated generously to the Australian Labor Party.

The Daily Telegraph has revealed the fact that Star City, a leading casino of Australia had recently made an AUS$100,000 donation to the Australian Labor Party. This is something that mirrors the recent ‘cash for favors’ scandals that took place in the UK. Moreover, this donation was done just before the elections of the year where Labor had come to power following a global warming and anti-Iraq platform.

Presently, Star City Casino has a monopoly in New South Wales of Australia, where it made a donation of $100 million to the Labor party. The Star City Casino maintains that there is absolutely nothing wrong or illegal in their making their donation.

At present, Star City Casino has no online bingo in its range of games and thus is not a major online gaming entity. However so far, UK online bingo operators and online bingo halls have not been involved in any ‘cash for favors’ scandals in UK.
