Mark Page, a 37 year old radio technician and golf enthusiast was the owner of the sole winning ticket in Saturday’s Lotto draw. With this, he has won himself the jackpot of 4,771,402 pounds, making him the second biggest lotto winner after Elizabeth Harrop won 8.9 million in the lottery of October 2002.
When approached on what he intended to do with his winnings, Mark Page replied that he intends to spend the money on taking his family of his partner and two teenage children to their dream holiday in the Bahamas and Hawaii. In addition to this, he intends to use the money to improve his golf handicap.
Living in Dundee, Mr. Mark Page was, and still is, in complete shock on his numbers having been drawn on Saturday’s draw. He also intends to spend more time on the fairway with the money, and buy a high powered Audi RS4. Mr. Mark Page, his partner Carol of age 44, and children Graham, 16, and Lisa, 19, celebrated this win with champagne at the Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews.
Mark Page says that he just could not believe the fact that he had the winning ticket with him. He had double checked the winning numbers, before he actually made an attempt to claim a jackpot. It was while he was watching TV on Saturday night when he decided to check his numbers when the adverts came.
On checking his ticket on Teletext, and found that all 6 numbers matched, he just could not believe his luck. So he checked the numbers again on Ceefax; and just went into shock. It took him some time to realize that he was indeed the winner of the lottery and now looks forward to starting his life on the fairways, and becoming a scratch golfer.
