The latest news in the UK gaming industry grapevine is that the UK government is planning to veto the plans of constructing a large scale, land based casino in Manchester. This decision was thus resulted in a lawsuit by the Manchester City authorities aiming at protecting all its plans of making improvements in the city.

The online bingo industry observers look at this news in a different perspective. They feel that with this decision that the UK government makes, there will be a large shift in the UK gaming market. The shift will be from more emphasis being placed from land based gaming to online gaming.

As it is, online bingo halls and online bingo games operators are all gaining in popularity with the reduction in the crisis ridden, land based bingo sector. The present decision that the government has taken regarding the Manchester project has as it is, sent shockwaves through the Manchester community.

This is because the Manchester community had anticipated that with the building of the casino, 265 million pounds of investment would have been brought to Manchester, along with 2,700 extra jobs.
