The New Year started out wonderfully for a Halifax woman by her winning 100,000 pounds at a bingo game. The woman prefers to remain anonymous and is married with two children.
She is both shocked and elated at this winning, and intends to just spend and spend her money for herself and her family. She said that this was brilliant news, and a beautiful start to the New Year.
So surprising is the news that her husband did not believe her when she first called and told him about the winning. It was after she had shown him the cheque that he had actually believed her.
This woman was playing bingo in Mecca Halifax, where she has been a member for five years. She had won a few times in bingo in the past here, but they were all small amounts. In addition to buying stuff for her home, she intends to spend the money on a family holiday in Cuba too.
The operations manager of Mecca Halifax said that when she had won the jackpot, the atmosphere in the club was electric with people just stomping and cheering for her winning of the jackpot.
